Pintos & Peppers

For your next Mexican food themed night, try dressing up your pinto beans with these ingredients.

Here’s What You Will Need:

2 (15 Ounce) Cans of Pinto Beans, drained

1 Medium Onion, chopped finely

1 Bell Pepper, chopped

1 (10 Ounce) Can Diced Tomatoes with Green Chilies, undrained

2 T. Bragg’s Amino Acids or GF Tamari Sauce

2 Pieces Cooked Crisp Bacon, crumbled (reserved)

Sauté the onion and the peppers in the oil for 2 minutes.  Add the remaining ingredients except the reserved bacon.


Cook over medium heat until the liquid cooks off and you are able to scrape back the beans showing the bottom of your pot (see picture).


When ready to serve, stir in the crumbled bacon and enjoy!
